Pinghe
My husband's hometown is a place called Pinghe, it's just an hour away from Zhangzhou. It's a rural place so if you go there prepare to do nothing much but relax or catch up on your favourite shows. It's a beautiful place though especially at sunset. Just a quick walk will take you to this rocking bridge and a place to watch the sunset. The best part about Pinghe is the remoteness which has been hard to find for me here in China. I'm from Ireland which is a fairly green place so I do miss the countryside sometimes and the ease and simplicity of country life. There were places to play and swim and everyone did so most evenings we were there. It was refreshing to see people enjoys themselves and not be so caught up in the city life and the 'rat race' that catches hold of us sometimes.
