An evening in Zhangzhou
I have been on holiday for the past three weeks in my husband's hometown. This was the first day we came back to Zhangzhou so I decided to take 5 minutes to walk around by myself to explore the little gems that are all around the city.
Zhangzhou is located in Fujian province about two hours away from Xiamen. Fujian province is in the south of China so it's a little different to Suzhou where I have been living for the past five years. I haven't been to Xiamen yet and if I'm honest only finding my feet down here after three visits. I'm a new mum so the past two years have been very busy ones and in a way being a mum you lose a sense of yourself, sometimes it's hard to find it back. Today, I suppose I kinda took a small sense of it back for 5 minutes atleast.
I have been travelling around Asia since I was 25 !?# and it always perks me up to find so much culture in the small places just even like these back alleys where I was today. I am looking forward to exploring them some more now that our baby is getting bigger.
This temple was just a few minutes walk from where we were having tea and it was so pretty. I didn't even capture all the ornate details on it's walls. It was a beautiful evening here and I was finally able to take some nice photos with my phone's camera.
